Pro Trek Satellite Navi, the world's first built-in GPS capabilities. The new Protrek Navi Satellite comes with a host of newly improved features and functions, including a more compact design made possible by a rechargeable battery and a higher degree of water resistance.
 
Other features include multi-windowing for better data accessibility while on the move, and PC linking, which lets you manage your landmarks and waypoints on your computer for downloading to the watch when you need them.

Satellite almanac data stored in memory for recall when it is needed. When a position measurements id performed, the watch uses the almanac data to predict the approximate location of the satellites, which eliminates the time required for satellite searches and greatly reduces GPS measurement times.
 
Current Time correction feature causes the current time setting to be corrected automatically bases on time data received from the satellites whenever the GPS watch successfully performs a GPS measurement.
 
How it all works:
 
 · Current Position
A position measurement is produced using data from at least three and as many as 12 satellites, and results are displayed as a latitude (N or S degrees, minutes, seconds) and longitude (E or W degrees, minutes, seconds). Read-outs can be used to instantly plot your position on a map, and UTM coordinates can be displayed for plotting your position anywhere on the globe.
There are three GPS measurement modes. The One Shot Mode performs single measurement with the press of a button. The Auto Mode takes measurements at a fixed interval, from 10 seconds to 60 minutes. The Continuous Mode continuously takes measurements each second.

 · Navigation Screens
The navigation screens show you the relationship of your current position to your destination, to a specific waypoint, or to a landmark. You can register up to 10 navigation checkpoints, including destination, waypoints, and start point. A new Arrival Alarm even alerts you when you are approaching a particular waypoint or your final destination.
 · Plot Screen
The plot screen shows your progress between two points, including any landmarks that are nearby. Landmarks are displayed using one of 15 icons. Track marks show your progress, and a flashing cursor indicates your current position.

 · Graphical Navigation Screen
The graphical navigation screen shows the distance and direction from your current position to a waypoint destination in either graphical or numeric form. When using the Continuous Mode for GPS measurements, you can also display your current heading and speed, and maximum speed attained.


 · Memory
 · Built-in memory can be used to store landmarks, track points, and other measurement data  · Landmark Memory
You can register up to 200 landmarks, including latitude, longitude, and altitude, for later selection as a waypoint or ultimate destination.
 · Auto Track Memory
Up to 400 sets of measured data can be stored for later recall when you need it. You can store your progress on a route and then go over the data after you get back home. Track data can also be displayed graphically on the watch display.
 
 · Altitude
Measurement data from four or more satellites can be used to produce 3-dimensional data that includes altitude in addition to latitude and longitude. Altitude data is stored automatically in memory and can be displayed on a graph that shows changes in your altitude. You can select either meters or feet for altitude data.

 · Multi windowing
Multi-windowing makes it possible to view different types of data on the same screen. For example, you could display the current time along with your current position, the direction pointer to your destination along with your current position, etc.
 
 · PC Linking
Exchange data between the watch and your computer quickly and easily.
Satellite Navi comes bundled with PC link software that lets you upload and download landmark, waypoint, and track point data between the watch and your computer. This means you can manage your GPS data on your computer and transfer it to the Satellite Navi watch when you need to take it along.
 · Transferable Data

 ·  Waypoints: Waypoint number, title, latitude and longitude, altitude
 ·  Tracks: Track title, latitude and longitude, altitude, measurement date and time
 ·  Other: GPS measurement setup, measurement display units, auto time adjust on/off, alarm on/off
 · Map Image Registration
Map images (JPEG or BMP images only) you scan from a paper map or read from a map CD-ROM can be registered and displayed on the Satellite Navi Link screen. Track points recorded by the watch can be transferred to your computer and plotted on the map image. You can also use map images to plot landmarks and route plans, and then transfer your route plan to the watch for use in the Navigation Screen. Registration of a map requires input of map coordinates, which are used to align the map image width Satellite Navi Link coordinates
